DACAMERA Young Artist Nanki Chugh will present her second-year project at the Aldine Branch Library as a key component of her participation in the DACAMERA Young Artist Program.
Full description of the event:
Join us for “Lobsters in Libraries: Symba and the Lobster” – an hour-long interactive storytelling experience about a little-known symbiotic relationship in the ocean in collaboration with Harris County Public Libraries. We invite children and their families to participate in a dramatic adaptation of Symba and the Lobster, an upcoming children’s book written by Nanki Chugh that explores the life cycle of Symbion Pandora, a tiny marine animal that lives on the whiskers of lobsters and eats their leftovers. This adaptation will include spoken narration and live music for violin and oboe composed by Nanki Chugh and performed alongside Anne Pinkerton, costumes designed by Sophie Parker, and activities for children to musically, dramatically, and artistically engage with the story.
DACAMERA Young Artists: Nanki Chugh, violin; Anne Pinkerton, oboe. Costumes designed by Sophie Parker.
