Da Camera Young Artist Program
The Young Artist Program is a chamber music fellowship program for emerging professional instrumentalists, singers and composers which is designed to achieve two goals:
- Provide career-expanding experiences and training to the next generation of artists, encouraging them to create music for the community throughout their careers
- Offer school children and underserved audiences exposure to great music and talented performers, using music as a vehicle for scholastic exploration and inspiration.
Now in its fifth year, the Young Artist Program has expanded to provide more opportunities in classrooms, throughout the community and with professional development workshops.
The Young Artist Program now has two tracks tailored to the needs of individual Young Artists:
- Young Artists More information, How to Apply
- Young Artist Composer-in-Residence More information, How to Apply
The two tracks include opportunities to perform throughout the Houston community, work alongside Houston school teachers within their core curricular classes and participate in bi-monthly workshops designed to provide Young Artists with an up-close perspective on nonprofit arts management and examine a variety of topics pertaining to performance and career development.
