Meet the 2013/2014 Season Da Camera Young Artists
Young Artist photographs by Richie Hawley.
The Da Camera Young Artist Program is a fellowship program for emerging professional instrumentalists, singers and composers. This program is designed to achieve two goals: 1) Provide career-expanding experiences and training to the next generation of artists, encouraging them to create music for the community throughout their careers, and 2) Offer young students and neglected audiences exposure to great music and talented performers, using music as a vehicle for scholastic exploration and inspiration.
Da Camera Young Artists participate in an exciting variety of performances, workshops and school visits. They perform at the Wortham Center, The Menil Collection, in HISD schools and even in nightclubs.
The 2013/2014 Da Camera Young Artists are: Brandon Bell, percussion; Anthony Bracewell, violin; Whitney Bullock, viola; Paul Cannon, bass; Meghan Caulkett, harp; Yvonne Chen, piano; Thomas Dougherty, composer; Phillip Elder, composer; Kelley Kimball, soprano; Daniel Knaggs, composer; Leah Kovach, viola; Sean Krissman, clarinet; Francesca McNeeley, cello; Boson Mo, violin; Melanie Riordan, violin; Andrew Staupe, piano; Titus Underwood, oboe and Courtenay Vandiver Pereira, cello.
