With the 2010/2011 season, New Worlds in Music and Art, Da Camera offers an extraordinary range of international artists and musical styles.  Outstanding musical works that represent breakthrough moments of originality are performed by world-renowned musicians. Chamber music and jazz; early music and contemporary works hot off the press; unique programs in which visual art and music meet -- the 10/11 season will lead you through centuries of musical discovery. 

The Da Camera season offers numerous Houston debuts and premieres: the legendary Jordi Savall leads us on a celebratory musical journey from Old Spain to the New World; the critically acclaimed production The Blue Rider: Kandinsky and Music evokes new worlds in music and art with 

“spellbinding” visuals; American composer John Adams’s brilliant new string quartet paired with Beethoven; France’s award-winning Ebène Quartet in Fin-de-Siècle Paris, and a Season Finale of old folk songs made new. 

We partner with Carnegie Hall to present the North American debut tour of the Arcanto Quartet from Germany, and two special programs at The Rothko Chapel feature Machaut’s 14th-century mass and Feldman’s stunning Rothko Chapel.  We pay tribute to Benny Goodman, present an all-star band led by drummer Jeff “Tain” Watts and welcome jazz guitarist Lionel Loueke’s fusion of jazz and traditional African music.
